When I first contacted Dom, my only goal was to have a better physique. I knew a little about fitness but I was a beginner really. I knew basics about nutrition but still had some unhealthy views on ‘good’ and ‘bad’ food. The lessons he has taught me are priceless and will shape what I do for the rest of my life.

People need guidance on all sorts of goals. I didn’t need to lose weight but I had low fitness levels, no real strength to speak of and I didn’t know how to fuel my body for results. I would visit the gym ad-hoc and mess around without a plan, and I didn’t have the confidence to explore all the equipment the gym had to offer me. Being a woman in the weights section of a commercial gym can be an intimidating experience!

"I'd been used to going to the gym for many years, trying to improve body composition and muscle mass I guess through self-learning and reading things for myself. I was fairly competent with my work in the gym, but my knowhow of nutrition to support this was really poor.
Needless to say I didn’t experience/achieve the results I wanted….at all.
In 2019 I took the plunge to work with a coach and after some detailed research I enlisted Dom to support my goals through online coaching. After working with him for over a year, my biggest takeaways from him, that have now set me up (in terms of knowledge and application) is the importance of understanding nutrition and the relationship with gaining muscle mass and improving body composition.
My knowledge of macro nutrients and how to approach both muscle mass and fat loss phases to support my goals has improved massively (I’m fully in control of this) and I’d also say my relationship with food is the best it’s ever been in that I really enjoy eating, but in a more controlled and sensible manner.
To bolster what you get from him he also coached me to a more optimum way of working out, whilst making me understand the benefits of rest, mind and muscle connection and improving my quality of work in the gym.
His attention to detail and knowledge is outstanding, but because he has actually lived, experienced and is qualified in everything he coaches, he fully understands how to effectively coach to you to his level of understanding. The knock on effect is simple…….you achieve your goals.

"My main objective? To lose weight - approx. 5-6lb; not much I know, but to me this was very important. When you only have a small amount to lose it can be even more difficult. I was already at my target weight but knew there would be the inevitable weight gain over the festive period and didn’t want to start the New Year above the new target I had set myself.

My weight had previously plateaued following a well-known ‘slimming plan’ and whilst I didn’t have much to lose – I just couldn’t seem to lose the last few pounds.
​
Dom’s 8 week fat loss challenge was just the thing I needed! Dom was exceptionally organised and motivating right from the start, sending me everything I needed (complete with instructional video) a few days before the actual start date, which allowed me to familiarise myself with the various tools that I would be completing as part of the challenge. I needed someone to be accountable to – someone to watch over my week with me – this was a massive motivator for me.

Dom set me targets at the beginning of the challenge, which he continuously monitored and amended as I progressed through the 8 weeks. I already had a basic awareness of calorie intake but was a little confused by ‘macronutrients’ with little knowledge / awareness of the importance of protein, fibre, fats and carbs etc. For example, I thought I ate a well-balanced diet already but one of the things that really became apparent right from the start, was how low in fibre my diet actually was!!

I logged my weight daily and Dom set me various targets, such as calories, macros, steps, exercise, sleep, hydration etc. and I completed weekly body measurements and a feedback form – which only took about 5 minutes a day. Already used to logging in My Fitness Pal (MFP) I linked Dom to my account so he could see my nutrition over the week and make helpful suggestions where necessary.

Dom took a holistic view of my entries (daily / weekly / MFP) and took me on a tour of my week, providing updates both verbal and visual (video feedback) and would also leave comments on my daily spreadsheet that were always motivating, encouraging and supportive. Working on this challenge with Dom was very rewarding, he was always responsive to all my questions / queries and was always just an email away if I needed advice on any part of the process.
The level of interaction between us was excellent, feedback was always constructive and extremely helpful, with tips and pointers along the way.
Result? I lost 8lb in weight and 7.5cm from my belly button waist – in just 8 weeks!"

“Working with Dom has been one huge education. I’ve learnt so much about nutrition and the make up of food. I’m now able to easily plan healthy meals with a good understanding of micro and macronutrients. The process has made me realise how much misinformation and misconception there is surrounding food and I’m glad that I’ve managed to become much more informed and educated through working with Dom.
A big advantage of the calorie and macro tracking system that Dom implements is how over time you learn about the calorie density of food to the point where I feel like I could start to eat more intuitively and have a good sense for the likely energy and macro values in the food I consume.
